Okay, so I just heard some news for all my fellow fans of Mayor of Kingstown – they’re officially filming the fifth and final season! It’s a bit sad to hear it’s ending, but I’m excited to see how the story wraps up. Production is actually happening right now, which means we might get a new season sometime next year, hopefully!
Filming for the show is taking place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Jeremy Renner will reprise his role as Mike McLusky, and Edie Falco is also returning to the cast.
Paramount announced that David Morse will be a regular cast member in the final season of the show.
David Morse joins final season
David Morse will play Russell Hardy, a seasoned FBI agent sent to Kingstown.
Hardy comes to Kingstown after Tracy is killed and Mike and Kyle get their revenge on Callahan. He’s there to find Callahan, who’s on the run, but Hardy’s arrival could reveal Mike’s hidden secrets and disrupt the delicate balance of power within the town.
The final season will likely focus on the ongoing conflict between the police, criminals, and the complicated relationships that connect them all.
Final season cast includes returning favorites
The fifth season of the show features Laura Benanti, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, and Derek Webster, alongside Jeremy Renner, Edie Falco, and David Morse. It has eight episodes.
Necar Zadegan, Nichole Galicia, and Lennie James are also returning.
Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon created the show Mayor of Kingstown, with Dave Erickson leading the production as showrunner.
