Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff Became ‘Kinder and Kinder’ Over the Years; Actress’s Former Nanny Reveals Her Personal Struggles

Trigger warning: This article contains mentions of death and suicide.

Andrea Canning, who used to work as Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff‘s nanny and assistant, shared memories of the actress following her sad passing at age 64 on Wednesday, March 5. In an interview with People magazine, she described how she quickly formed a close friendship with the late actress.

The pair initially crossed paths when Canning served as an intern in journalism on Baywatch, during the time when Pamela was married to the lead actor David Hasselhoff from 1989 to 2006. Upon hearing about Pamela’s unfortunate passing, Canning expressed her shock at the sudden news to a media outlet.

It was disclosed that the actress had difficulties following a motorcycle accident involving her and the Knight Rider actor. As reported by Terry Ahern, Pamela’s former representative, she sustained a fractured neck and spine in the crash’s aftermath and subsequently developed arthritis.

In our latest encounter, she was using a cane to walk, which was quite different from the Pamela I had known before. Yet, she remained compassionate amidst her struggles with health and finances. This is what I shared with the media outlet.

As reported by the journalist, Pamela has grown increasingly compassionate throughout the years. She fondly remembers receiving messages from her, expressing her pride in her former assistant who had built a contented family and successful career.

Even amid challenges, the actress from Castle Rock always managed to keep a hopeful perspective on life. She desires to be recalled as the “radiant optimist” that she truly was among her dear ones. Tragically, Pamela was found deceased in her Hollywood Hills home on Wednesday, under suspected circumstances of suicide.

A flood of tributes came from Pamela’s colleagues within the acting world, as well as her former spouse David Hasselhoff. Pamela’s daughter, Hayley Hasselhoff, remains alive after her passing.
