As a dedicated fan of Pamela Anderson throughout her illustrious career, I must say that it is both intriguing and respectable to see the legendary actress maintain control over her own narrative. Despite numerous attempts to pull her into the After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun documentary, she has chosen to stay true to herself and move forward rather than dwell on the past.
Pamela Anderson recently revealed that she was initially not interested in appearing in the latest four-part Hulu docuseries about her 1989 action drama show Baywatch. Anderson played the character of C.J. Parker in the series and earned critical acclaim, and her remarkable portrayal catapulted her to superstardom. However, the legendary actress and model mentioned that she has no involvement in the documentary, noting that they tried everything to convince her. Read on further to know more details!
In a recent conversation with Glamour UK, Pamela Anderson discussed her upcoming movie, The Last Showgirl and The Naked Gun, set to bring her back to the big screen. During this open dialogue with the magazine, she also shared why she chose not to participate in the After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun documentary, stating, “Recently, someone showed me a Hulu production related to Baywatch, but I have no involvement with it.
It was said that many previous actors are involved, and it seems they unearthed an old interview of her from the time she was shooting the initial series. Yet, Anderson clarified that they merely found this interview, as she wasn’t affiliated with the current production.
The actress mentioned that they had urged her persistently, pointing out, “They pleaded with everyone nearby. They even tried to get my children to convince me. They promised them producer credits. Frankly, they were pulling out all the stops. And I responded, ‘No, I truly don’t want to go back.’
Anderson clarified that she was ‘never’ approached for input regarding the Hulu series, Pam & Tommy, which centered around her past relationship with ex-spouse Tommy Lee. The media outlet pointed out that actress Lily James, who played Anderson in the show, and its creator, Robert Siegel, admitted to unsuccessful attempts to reach out to Anderson. In a statement, Anderson expressed, “Neither Hulu nor I were ever contacted. I had no involvement or knowledge of this production.
Looking back at the time when her tape with Tommy Lee was exposed in 1995, Pamela Anderson stated that it felt like an unjust act. She further mentioned that when the series Pam & Tommy was released, the memories from her past resurfaced and struck her much more intensely than she had ever anticipated.
The actress stated, “Thinking about it caused me such distress, it was as if someone had punched me in the gut again. It seemed unfair and painful that others could possibly find amusement in this. I believe it led to the loss of my husband, my peace of mind, and perhaps even my career.
Meanwhile, After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun is now streaming on Hulu.
