Following the cancellation of Taylor Swift’s performances in Vienna due to a suspected terror threat on August 8, 9, and 10, Coldplay and Maggie Rogers honored Swift at their concert on August 21, 2024. At Ernst Happel Stadium, they performed an a cappella rendition of Taylor’s hit Love Story from 2008, with Martin playing piano for the touching song that Taylor co-wrote with producer Aaron Dessner on the smaller stage. The European leg of Swift’s Eras Tour concluded last week after five shows at London’s Wembley Stadium, following which Vienna authorities reported the arrest of three suspects in a plot to target the stadium during her performances, intending to cause maximum harm.
