As a hardcore gamer who’s seen more reboots than I can count, I can confidently say that the news of Paddington 3 is a breath of fresh air. I mean, who wouldn’t want more adventures with everyone’s favorite marmalade-loving bear? The first two movies were pure delight, and if they’re anything like those, we’re in for a treat!
It’s high time for some good fortune to come our way, and more cheer would certainly be welcome. Honestly, we’d gladly accept any hint of joy that comes our way. Fortunately, StudioCanal, a French film company, has given us an amazing piece of news: they confirmed that Paddington 3 is actually being made! What a delightful surprise!
The upcoming movie will carry forward the delightful tale of Paddington Bear, as confirmed by StudioCanal. In an interview with Variety, a representative from StudioCanal stated: “We’re indeed working diligently on film 3, ensuring the highest quality and attention to detail, just like films 1 and 2.” This is fantastic news given how enchanting the first two Paddington movies have been. Since this confirmation was made, we’ve uncovered additional details about Paddington 3, including its title (“Paddington in Peru”), production team, release date, and a trailer.
Here’s what we know about the bearrific movie.

Paddington 3‘s Title, Team, and Cast
In the latest update, we’ve found out who will helm the third Paddington film. It is Dougal Wilson who will be directing this time around. As for the title, it’s going to be “Paddington in Peru”. We find this title quite dramatic. Wilson steps in to take over the adorable bear series from director Paul King, who was responsible for the first two installments. Interestingly, Wilson has a history in music videos and advertisements. With “Paddington in Peru”, it marks his debut in theatrical features. Filming will take place in both London and Peru, with production set to start on July 24.
Furthermore, Deadline mentions that the cast includes “Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Antonio Banderas, Olivia Colman, Julie Walters, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin, Jim Broadbent, and Carla Tous. Notably, Ben Whishaw and Imelda Staunton will reprise their roles as the voices of Paddington and Aunt Lucy.
If you’re not already aware, the beloved Paddington Bear stories penned by author Michael Bond and illustrated by artists like Peggy Fortnum serve as inspiration for the Paddington movies. The first live-action movie was released in 2014, with a second installment coming out in 2017. Both films proved profitable and touched hearts as viewers watched Paddington find a home with the Brown family in London. Ben Whishaw lends his voice to the titular bear, while Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters, and Sally Hawkins are among the actors who star alongside him in these films. By the end of Paddington 2, Paddington was reunited with his adoptive aunt Lucy.
