Ozzy Osbourne Funeral: Sharon, Aimee and Metallica Join Thousands for Emotional Birmingham Farewell

On Wednesday, July 30, Ozzy Osbourne‘s funeral took place in Birmingham, accompanied by a heartfelt public procession that was attended by thousands. Sharon Osbourne and their children, Kelly, Jack, Aimee, and Louis, were not alone at this emotional occasion; they were surrounded by family members, dear friends, and legendary musicians during both the public and private events.

Emotional procession draws fans to Broad Street

1 PM marked the start of a public goodbye ceremony, as a hearse transporting the lead singer of Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, navigated Broad Street. As per reports from The Independent, Ozzy’s funeral procession was joined by a local brass band, Bostin Brass, and paused at various spots along the route – the Black Sabbath bridge and bench – that have been transformed into tribute sites following his passing on July 22 at age 76.

With a noticeable display of emotion, Sharon Osbourne was seen alongside her children, Jack and Kelly, placing flowers and greeting well-wishers. A throng of people had gathered to pay tribute to one of Birmingham’s most celebrated figures, with many leaving heartfelt messages, candles, and keepsakes as a symbol of their admiration.

Aimee Osbourne makes a rare public appearance

At the funeral procession of her father, Aimee Osbourne made a seldom-seen public outing. She stood near her mother Sharon and siblings Kelly and Jack, both of them dressed in black veils and berets. With her sister’s hand clutched tightly, Aimee paid an emotional tribute to her father through tears.

Aimee, who opted out of MTV’s reality series The Osbournes, released a shared statement alongside her kin following Ozzy’s demise: “We are deeply saddened to announce that our cherished Ozzy Osbourne has left us today. He was in the company of his family and bathed in love. We kindly ask for everyone’s understanding and respect for our family’s privacy during this difficult time.

After the public parade concluded, a private funeral service transpired in Birmingham. Notable musicians, such as members from Metallica, were spotted arriving at the venue. To ensure the event ran smoothly and respectfully, the Birmingham City Council temporarily closed Broad Street and rerouted buses and trams. The council collaborated expeditiously with the Osbourne family to organize a secure send-off.
