The Outer Worlds 2 features challenging landscapes and crumbling old facilities, making long-distance jumping a huge help for exploration. Luckily, players can get a double jump relatively early in the game. By exploring the Fairfield area, you’ll find the Plasmatic Augmented Leap Enhancer (PALE), which grants this ability for the remainder of your playthrough.
We’ll explain where you need to go to get your hands on this item so you can get around easily.
How to unlock double jump – Outer Worlds 2

As soon as you enter Fairfield, follow the main path. You’ll see the jail on your left. Standing near the bounty terminal is Huell Chaudry, who needs your help finding his business partner. He hopes finding his partner will help him get a promotion and launch his invention. This will begin the quest called “Perilous Journey to the Grove”.
Go to the quest marker, and you’ll see a raised platform with a lift. As you approach, you’ll find people arguing, and then someone jumps and falls to their death. Unfortunately, this is the person you were looking for, but you can now collect the PALE item from their body.
As we saw, this ability lets you double jump, but it won’t protect you from falling a long distance if you’re already falling too fast. Instead, you can use it to climb the cliffs nearby, reach the top of the platform, and then lower it down to help those who are still stranded, earning some experience points. Finally, return to Huell and tell him what you’ve done.
