Summary
- Our Legacy WORK SHOP and Converse have teamed up on a new Chuck 70
- The design celebrates imperfections like irregular foxing, inspired by vintage Chuck Taylors
- The collaboration will be available starting September 12
In a unique team-up, our Legacy WORK SHOP and Converse are joining forces for a collaboration that enhances a timeless silhouette by celebrating flaws as part of the creative process. The Work Shop Chuck 70 is a fresh take on Converse’s most celebrated sneaker, reinterpreting its design to reflect the importance of the human element in creation.
The new launch offers two styles of the Work Shop Chuck 70: one in a deep Espresso color and another in its natural, untreated form, both made from organic cotton canvas. As a homage to past collaborations, this shoe boasts a hidden Chuck Taylor emblem on the inner side, while displaying a neatly embroidered Work Shop yin yang logo where the usual patch would be.
This version maintains the original information but aims for a more natural and easy-to-read style by incorporating a conversational tone and breaking up complex sentences into simpler ones.
As a dedicated gamer, I’d put it like this: “Hey there fellow sneakerheads! Me, being the founder of Our Legacy and creative director of Our Legacy WORK SHOP, am thrilled to reveal our latest creation – a love letter to classic Chuck 70’s. We’ve taken our dreams and given them form by infusing human character into these iconic sneakers. You see, we’ve embraced the slight imperfections we’ve always admired in those vintage Chuck Taylors from the ’60s to ’80s.
We’ve brought back the unique, hand-pulled foxing tape that sits a bit higher, the irregular toe bumpers, and shorter toe caps. It’s all about celebrating the beauty in those ‘flaws’ that were inherent in the original designs – the marks of human craftsmanship that make each pair truly unique.
On September 12th, the collaboration between Our Legacy and Converse will debut both online and in-store at Converse, Our Legacy stores located in London, Stockholm, Berlin, Seoul, and at various Dover Street Market outlets around the world.
