At the Oscars 2025, a star-studded gathering of A-list Hollywood celebrities took place. Notably absent from this event was Jonathan Bailey. It’s worth noting that his film, Wicked, received nominations in no less than ten categories at the Academy Awards.
In the meantime, it was Jeff Goldblum who talked to E! News about why the musical’s co-star didn’t attend the spectacular event.
Currently, the actor known for his role in Thor: Ragnarok is performing Richard II on stage in England. He also pointed out that this particular actor, Bailey, is exceptionally skilled, even going as far as to call him an “eighth-degree black belt” in acting.
Afterward, Jeff Goldblum expressed his fondness for Jonathan Bailey, praising his flawless portrayal in Wicked, and hinted at the Bridgerton actor’s upcoming endeavor.
In the upcoming scenes of Jurassic World Rebirth, Bailey will make an appearance alongside Scarlett Johansson.
During the March 3rd awards ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, Jeff Goldblum expressed his excitement by saying, “I can’t wait to purchase tickets and watch it multiple times.” He also praised the event as a stellar gathering of talented individuals.
Oh my gosh, let me tell you something amazing! If you haven’t heard yet, Wicked: Part One was absolutely mind-blowing at the 97th Academy Awards, raking in a whopping 10 nominations! Can you believe it? There were nods for Best Supporting Actress, Costume Design, and so many more categories. It’s like they just stole the show, and I couldn’t be prouder as an obsessed fan!
During the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards, Jonathan Bailey’s absence was conspicuous because he was busy working on Richard II and had nominations in three categories: Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for Wicked, Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for Wicked, and Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a drama series for Bridgerton.
Jurassic World Rebirth is set to release in June 2025.
