I had the privilege of being present at the 97th Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, where the legendary Mick Jagger graced the stage to announce the winner of the Best Original Song award. The audience leaped to their feet in a thunderous standing ovation, acknowledging the indelible impact that the Rolling Stones frontman has had on music and culture throughout the years.

Among the contenders for the category of Best Original Song are: “El Mal” by Emilia Pérez, “Mi Camino” also by Emilia Pérez, “Never Too Late” performed by Elton John, “Like a Bird” from Sing Sing, and “The Journey” composed by The Six Triple Eight.

Emilia Pérez, a movie that explores ideas about identity and metamorphosis, received the most nominations with 13, including two for Best Original Song. This movie’s music, which plays a crucial role in its storyline, was created by the French pair Clément Ducol and Camille.
