When Adrien Brody won the Oscar for Best Actor in The Brutalist, he was determined to complete his speech without being interrupted. However, as he spoke, it’s said that the orchestra started playing their music.
Following that, he didn’t waste a lot of words to express, “I’m concluding. I beg you. I beg you again. I am indeed concluding. Could you please turn off the music? I’ve been here before. This isn’t my first time around. I will keep it short.
In his address, Brody expressed that returning had granted him a valuable perspective. Regardless of where one stands in their career or accomplishments, he emphasized, everything can be lost.
Brody mentioned that the night stood out as “extraordinarily significant” to him, because he was consciously appreciating it. He went on to say that it represented a fresh start, further noting, “I hope I’ll be granted the chance for the next two decades of my life to demonstrate that I deserve such impactful, important, and relevant roles.
Additionally, he emphasized that his presence served to express the ongoing effects of war and systemic suppression, such as their traumatic aftermath.
Apart from that, he showed appreciation towards his partner, Georgina Chapman, and their children, Dash and India – whom she is said to have with Harvey Weinstein.
In two different instances throughout his acting career, the performer has been awarded an Academy Award. Notably, he received his first Oscar in 2003 for “The Pianist,” making him the record-holder as the youngest person to ever receive this accolade at that time.
