Renowned director Charlie Kaufman, who took home an Oscar, has agreed to pen and direct the movie version of Iddo Gefen’s short story ‘Debby’s Dream House’, titled Later The War. Kaufman is particularly known for his distinctive narrative approach, and this upcoming project appears to align well with his preferred style.
In the upcoming movie, actors Eddie Redmayne, Tessa Thompson, and Patsy Ferran will take on roles. The exact storyline is being kept secret, but it’s known that the film is based on a short story about an individual who manufactures dreams for others. However, complications arise when he begins to produce nightmares instead.
The movie is set to be produced by Ken Kao, Josh Rosenbaum from Waypoint Entertainment, Sarah Green, and Steven Demmler. Financing for the film will come from Suraj Maraboyina’s 131 Pictures. The global distribution rights are being managed by WME Independent and CAA Media Finance.
Recently, Redmayne is garnering notice for his part in the Peacock series titled “Day of the Jackal”. On the other hand, Thompson has a busy year ahead with shows like “His & Hers” on Netflix. Ferran will share screen time with Robert Pattinson in “Mickey17”, and not long ago, he was featured on Broadway.
