Oscar Isaac recently revealed something surprising in a new interview with GQ, and it’s likely to interest fans of both Star Wars and Marvel.
It definitely seems like Oscar Isaac is refusing to work with Disney, and that would likely end any possibility of him reprising his role as Moon Knight in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Isaac Slams Disney: “Not So Open to Working With Disney”
When asked if he’d ever consider returning to the Star Wars franchise – something he’d previously joked about only doing if he needed to buy another house – Isaac acknowledged that past comment was “a bit insensitive.” He quickly changed the subject, however.
I’d consider it, but I’m hesitant about working with Disney at the moment. If they can address some concerning issues and avoid leaning towards extremist ideologies, I’d be much more interested.
Okay, so this detail really stuck with me. Apparently, this interview happened right after ABC put Jimmy Kimmel Live! on hold because Kimmel made some comments about Charlie Kirk’s passing – something Isaac, the interviewee, was clearly not happy about. Thankfully, Kimmel was back on the air just four days later, but it’s interesting to know the timing of this conversation and the context surrounding it.
Isaac doubled down:
“If that happens, then yeah, I’d be open to having a conversation about a galaxy far away.”
Translation: Until Disney “figures it out,” he’s not working with them.

What This Means For Star Wars
Oscar Isaac portrayed Poe Dameron in the most recent Star Wars films. Although there aren’t any current intentions to feature the character again, if Isaac is unwilling to collaborate with Disney further, then a return for Poe Dameron is unlikely.

The Bigger Fallout: Moon Knight Is Probably Dead
The real shock is how this affects the MCU.
Oscar Isaac doesn’t have a deal to appear in many future Marvel projects. His role as Moon Knight was designed to allow for possibilities, leaving fans wondering if he’ll be back for another season of the show or join the next Avengers movies.
Isaac has hinted at revisiting his role as Moon Knight before, and his latest statements strongly suggest he will be returning.
If Isaac refuses to collaborate with Disney, he won’t be working with Marvel either. Because Disney owns Marvel Studios, that means no Moon Knight project will move forward.
This would in part explain why Marvel hasn’t announced anything for the character since 2022.
