Oprah Winfrey Urged Ellen DeGeneres to Take a Post-Show Break and Ended Up Feeling ‘Triggered’ Herself

Oprah Winfrey, a titan in the media industry, has always been an inspiration to me, not just for her groundbreaking achievements, but also for her compassionate approach towards life.


Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres enjoy a strong friendship. Recently, on one of Ellen’s final shows, Oprah offered some heartfelt advice while emphasizing her affection for the program.

According to a report from May 2022, Oprah Winfrey shared that she became emotional during conversations with the team on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

When Oprah Winfrey stepped onto the stage in conversation with her renowned co-host, she simultaneously shared that during her encounters with the show’s team members, she expressed to each one that she understood their feelings at that moment.

During their conversation with DeGeneres, she was suggested to take a break.

In simpler terms, the actress who starred in “The Color Purple” shared advice with DeGeneres by saying, “Take some time for yourself first. You see, that’s exactly what I did. I took a brief break and then jumped straight back into my work.

For those unversed, Oprah Winfrey had concluded her, Oprah Winfrey Show back in May 2011.  

In a conversation with DeGeneres, the actress who plays the lead role in The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks acknowledged that while she serves as the public figure for the show, it’s actually the team behind the scenes who are responsible for managing its day-to-day operations and ensuring its smooth running.

Winfrey also added that when she had met the staffers backstage, it had “triggered” her.

Winfrey praised them by saying, ‘You all have done an outstanding job keeping things going,’ she commented as she conversed with the actress from If These Walls Could Talk 2.

The popular television show hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, known as “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” ran successfully for 19 impressive seasons. As it’s now winding down, Ellen shared with Oprah Winfrey that while she appreciated the guidance she received, she plans to embark on a property-buying adventure next.

Later on, DeGeneres also shared that after the show ends, she plans to purchase several homes together with her spouse, Portia de Rossi.

Actress from “A Wrinkle in Time” made a seldom visit on Ellen DeGeneres’ show during this pandemic period, bidding her a fitting farewell.
