The TV host shared that a well-known friend introduced her to weightlifting. She jokingly recalled a conversation with Adele, saying, “I remember Adele telling me she was deadlifting, and I just acted like I knew what that meant!” She then posted a clip from her 2021 interview with Adele, showing the singer lifting between 160 and 170 pounds, which Winfrey found incredibly impressive.

I was so inspired by Oprah’s recent post! She shared how much things are changing as she enters her 70s, and it really resonated with me. She mentioned that after getting two new knees a couple of summers ago, she started incorporating strength training into her routine. Her reasoning? We all need to keep building and maintaining muscle as we age, and I completely agree! It’s so empowering to see her prioritizing her health and strength at this stage of life.

She explained that consistent effort helped her improve, especially considering she had double knee surgery in 2021. While she’s not aiming for the Olympics like Adele, she feels much stronger now. Winfrey ended by encouraging her followers to challenge themselves: “As a birthday gift to myself, I want you all to try something new – you might be surprised by the results.”

Oprah Winfrey is also working on other projects, including an HBO special based on Ta-Nehisi Coates’ book, Between the World and Me. The special will combine documentary footage with dramatic readings.

Oprah Winfrey’s production company, Harpo Productions, is working on a film adaptation of Abraham Verghese’s popular novel, The Covenant of Water. She also recently presented AI and the Future of Us, a television special where she discussed artificial intelligence with prominent figures like Bill Gates and Sam Altman.

Beyond her work in media, Oprah Winfrey continues to thrive as an author, recently publishing Enough with Dr. Ania Jastreboff. She consistently uses her influence to promote health, strength, and well-being, especially when it comes to aging and managing weight. At 72, she remains incredibly active and inspires her fans with both her career accomplishments and her dedication to fitness.
