ONE PIECE’s Baroque Works, Explained (A Spoiler-Free Guide to the Agents and Organization)

Get ready for more adventures with the Straw Hats! Season two of the live-action One Piece series, titled Into the Grand Line, arrives on Netflix this March. The new trailer offers a sneak peek at the dangerous enemies Luffy and his crew will encounter: the strange and formidable agents of Baroque Works.

Fans might recall hints of this group in the first season of the Netflix live-action One Piece, but the mysterious organization of assassins will become the main villains in seasons two and three. So, who exactly are the Baroque Works? We’ll take a close look at the group and its members, using information from the original manga and anime. Don’t worry – this guide is designed to avoid spoilers, sharing only what the live-action series seems likely to reveal in the next two seasons. However, since we’re exploring the source material, you might discover some surprises, so proceed with caution!

What Is The Baroque Works Criminal Syndicate on One Piece?

As a huge fan of One Piece, I’ve been following the Baroque Works crew closely. Basically, they’re a seriously dangerous group of assassins operating in the world of the story. We talked about them before, and it’s worth remembering they’re a secret society – a lot of them have Devil Fruit powers, which makes them even more formidable. They’re really clever about hiding who they are, using code names based on numbers and days, and it’s all leading back to a super mysterious leader who’s pulling the strings.

The Baroque Works Member Hierarchy on One Piece

The organization known as Baroque Works in One Piece is structured like a pyramid, with the strongest members at the top. Male agents are given codenames that are numbers – lower numbers mean higher rank, starting with Mr. 0, then Mr. 1, Mr. 2, and so on. Female agents, however, are given codenames based on holidays, and their numbers don’t seem to indicate rank. Typically, each team in Baroque Works consists of one numbered male agent and one female agent with a holiday-themed codename.

The Agents of Baroque Works are Separated by Power

In the anime and manga One Piece, the Baroque Works organization is divided into two main groups of agents: the Officer Agents and the Frontier Agents. The Officer Agents, consisting of Mr. 1 to Mr. 5, are the strongest members and most of them possess unique abilities called Devil Fruit powers. The Frontier Agents, numbered Mr. 6 through Mr. 12, are assassin teams considered less significant and weaker within the organization.

The criminal organization Baroque Works in One Piece is led by its President, Mr. 0, and Vice President, Miss All Sunday. The group also employs a large number of unnamed bounty hunters and mercenaries, many of whom aspire to become official agents or officers.

What Does Baroque Works Want on One Piece?

So, what is the goal of this group of powerful criminals and assassins regarding the legendary treasure, One Piece? I can’t reveal the full details without spoiling the story, but it’s more than just senseless destruction. Baroque Works has a specific objective in mind.

What Manga and Anime Arcs will Appear on One Piece Season 2 and 3?

The organization Baroque Works and its members play a role throughout the One Piece story, and we learn more about them as the series progresses. Netflix’s live-action One Piece will cover the Lougetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island arcs in its second season. The popular Alabasta Arc will be featured in season three. Below, we’ll introduce the agents of Baroque Works, offering a glimpse of what’s to come without giving away any major spoilers.

Every Major Baroque Work Member, Their Powers, and What We Need to Know About Them Before One Piece Season 2

The President of One Piece‘s Baroque Works: Mr. 0

Baroque Works was created by a man known only as Mr. 0. While his ultimate goals remain a secret for now, he’s assembled a group of incredibly dangerous assassins to help him achieve them. He’s a bit like the crime boss Tony Soprano, but in the world of One Piece.

Joe Manganiello has been cast as Mr. 0 for the second season of the live-action One Piece series. However, based on the anime and manga, his full introduction as the key strategist behind Baroque Works during the Alabasta storyline might not happen until the third season.

The Vice President of Baroque Works: Miss All Sunday

Though Mr. 0 is expected to appear later in the second season of Netflix’s One Piece, his associate, Miss All Sunday, will be a key opponent for the Straw Hats this season. Lera Abova will play Miss All Sunday, a member of Baroque Works, in One Piece season two.

Miss All Sunday has a unique ability thanks to her Devil Fruit power: she can grow copies of her arms and legs from any nearby surface. This makes her a powerful and unpredictable opponent. As the live-action One Piece series continues and adapts more of the original story, viewers will likely discover there’s more to this villain than initially meets the eye.

Mr. 1 & Miss Doublefinger Are Waiting in the Wings

Two prominent characters from Baroque Works, Mr. 1 and Miss Doublefinger, won’t appear in the upcoming second season of One Piece. However, actors Awdo Awdo and Daisy Head are expected to portray them in season three.

These two members of Baroque Works have incredibly strong Devil Fruit abilities that will make them dangerous opponents for the Straw Hat crew when they reach Alabasta.

Fan-Favorite Baroque Works Agent, Mr. 2 Bon Clay, Will Arrive in One Piece Season 3

Fans will be excited to see Mr. 2 Bon Clay, a popular character, appear in the third season of the show. He’s part of the powerful Baroque Works organization, and all its top members will be introduced this season. Cole Escola, a nonbinary actor, will play Mr. 2 Bon Clay when his path crosses with Luffy. Interestingly, Mr. 2 Bon Clay’s codename within Baroque Works includes both a number and references a holiday.

Mr. 3’s Is One of the Highest-Ranked Baroque Works Members in One Piece Season 2

As a big fan of One Piece, I’m really excited about season two! From what I’ve learned, Mr. 3, voiced by David Dasmalchien, is going to be a major challenge for the Straw Hats – he’s the highest-ranking agent they’ll face after Miss All Sunday. He’s the main villain in the Little Garden arc, and his Devil Fruit power is seriously dangerous. He can create and control wax in any form, and once it hardens, it’s unbelievably sharp and strong – even tougher than steel! It’s going to be a tough fight, but I can’t wait to see how Luffy and the crew overcome him.

Miss Goldenweek Does Not Have a Devil Fruit, But She Is SCARY

In the live-action adaptation of One Piece, Sophia Anne Caruso will play Miss Goldenweek, the partner of Mr. 3. Although she doesn’t have a Devil Fruit power, Miss Goldenweek is a skilled hypnotist. She uses different colored paints to control and incapacitate her enemies, even changing their personalities depending on the color she chooses. Despite appearing young and innocent, Miss Goldenweek is a dangerous opponent, particularly in the Little Garden arc of One Piece.

Mr. 5’s Power Is Explosively Yucky

Camrus Johnson voices Mr. 5 in season two of One Piece, where he’ll battle the Straw Hats in both the Whiskey Peak and Little Garden arcs. Mr. 5 has a unique Devil Fruit power – the Bomu-Bomu no Mi – that lets him turn his body parts into bombs. And surprisingly, his favorite way to use this power is with boogers!

Miss Valentine Can Float and Crush

Mr. 5 will be joined by his partner, Miss Valentine, who will be portrayed by Jazzara Jaslyn in One Piece season two. Like Mr. 5, Miss Valentine has a special power from a Devil Fruit – the Kiro-Kiro no Mi. This fruit lets her instantly change her weight, making her incredibly light or as heavy as 10,000 kilograms. She uses this ability to float with her umbrella and then powerfully crush her opponents from above.

Mr. 7 Is the First Baroque Works Agent We Ever Met on Live-Action One Piece

Mr. 7 holds the distinction of being the first agent of Baroque Works introduced in the live-action One Piece series. In the first season, he attempts to recruit Zoro into the organization, but Zoro decisively rejects him – and demonstrates his refusal by literally cutting Mr. 7 in half. While this particular event is originally found in the One Piece manga, the live-action adaptation brought it to life on screen. It’s important to remember that ‘Mr. 7’ is just a code name, so even with this agent defeated, others could easily take his place.

Mr. 8 Is a Baroque Works Member Lurking in Whiskey Peak on One Piece

Yonda Thomas portrays Mr. 8 in season two of One Piece. While not a high-ranking member of the criminal organization Baroque Works, he leads their operations in Whiskey Peak. Despite not having any Devil Fruit powers, Mr. 8 is a dangerous opponent who hides weapons beneath a friendly exterior. As the story progresses, he turns out to be more important than he first seems.

Will Miss Monday Appear on One Piece Season 2?

Although the cast hasn’t been announced yet, in the One Piece anime and manga, Mr. 8 appears alongside another Baroque Works member named Miss Monday. It’s uncertain if she’ll be included in the live-action series, as season one left out several minor characters from the East Blue Saga. However, watch out for a very strong-looking nun on Whiskey Peak in season two of One Piece—she might make an appearance.

Mr. 9 Is Part of the Team Rocket of Baroque Works Agents

Okay, so diving into season two of One Piece, the first villains we meet are shaping up to be Mr. 9 and Miss Wednesday. Honestly, they’re less intimidating bad guys and more of a comedic nuisance – think Team Rocket, but in the One Piece world. Mr. 9, voiced by Daniel Lasker, isn’t exactly a powerhouse; he’s a lower-ranking member of Baroque Works, a ‘Frontier Agent’ as they call him. But the real intrigue comes with Miss Wednesday, and their story unfolds during the Reverse Island arc. They’re not the biggest threat, but they definitely set the stage for what’s to come.

Mr. 9 isn’t a Devil Fruit user, but he’s a skilled acrobat who fights with two baseball bats.

Baroque Works’ Miss Wednesday Has Hidden Depths

Charithra Chandran plays Miss Wednesday in season two of One Piece, and she’s a lot more complex than she initially seems. At first, she appears to be a minor and somewhat silly member of the Baroque Works organization. However, as her path crosses with the Straw Hat pirates, viewers will discover she has a much bigger role to play.

Miss Wednesday is an agent for Baroque Works who doesn’t have any supernatural abilities. She’s known for her skill with Kujakki Slashers – small, sharp discs connected to wires that she expertly throws, uses to cut, and then retrieves.

Other Baroque Works Agents We Might See in the Future of the One Piece Live-Action Series

As a huge fan, I’ve noticed a few numbers and holidays are missing from the list of Baroque Works agents. That’s because some of them, like Mr. 4 and Miss Merry Christmas, don’t really show up until the Alabasta arc. Others, like Mr. 11, just have really small parts. Plus, a bunch of agents have only been mentioned in the manga and anime – we’ve never actually seen them! Those guys are Mr. 6, Miss Mother’s Day, Mr. 10, Miss Tuesday, Miss Thursday, Mr. 12, and Miss Saturday. But honestly, I’m hoping this live-action One Piece series will finally give us a chance to see these characters brought to life for the first time!

The Unluckies (Mr. 13 & Miss Friday)

One of the most memorable parts of the One Piece season two trailer was definitely the debut of The Unluckies – two incredibly unusual members of Baroque Works. Previously known as Mr. 13 and Miss Friday, they act as the organization’s spies and handle any internal problems. And yes, you read that right – these agents are an otter and a vulture who wear pajamas and sunglasses! That’s One Piece for you.

It only gets weirder and more wonderful from here.

One Piece Season 2 Will Be Full of Baroque Works Members

The second season of One Piece will be available starting March 10th. The primary antagonists this season are expected to be Baroque Works and its members. We’ll keep you informed with all the details about Baroque Works from the anime, manga, and live-action adaptations as more information becomes available.
