The One Piece manga will be on hiatus again, following worries about the health of its creator, Eiichiro Oda.
The manga is currently paused while it reveals the truth about the God Valley Incident. Because of this, Chapter 1162, which was originally expected last week, will now be released on October 12th through the official Manga Plus app.
When One Piece unexpectedly went on a short break, many fans worried about the author, Oda. They feared he was overworking himself, both on the manga and with the production of the second season of the live-action show. The brief pause didn’t seem to give him enough time to rest, leading to increased concerns about his health.
A post on X (formerly Twitter) by @WSJ_manga reports that chapter 1162 of a popular manga will be delayed for another week. The post noted that manga artists often work extremely hard and struggle with health problems, which concerns fans. While creators of Weekly Shonen Jump, like Oda, typically take a break every three or four weeks, back-to-back breaks usually indicate the artist is unwell.
Eiichiro Oda’s *One Piece* will have another break next week in issue #47 of *Weekly Shonen Jump*. The series recently took a break due to the author’s health but a new chapter will be released this Sunday. Following that, *One Piece* will resume its regular schedule in issue #48 of *Weekly Shonen Jump*.

One Piece has been published weekly since 1997, which has understandably been demanding for its creator, Eiichiro Oda. After a recent, unplanned pause in releases, Shonen Jump apologized to readers. Because the delay of Chapter 1163 was known ahead of time, we likely won’t receive a health update from Oda this time.
Fans are wishing Oda gets the rest he needs so he can continue creating the incredibly popular manga series that everyone loves.
