I’m really excited about Peacock’s upcoming sci-fi spy thriller, The Copenhagen Test, and they just dropped the official trailer! It’s getting closer to release, and I can’t wait to check it out.
Created by Thomas Brandon and executive produced by James Wan, the eight-episode series will premiere on December 27th.
The new Peacock series is set in the near future and centers on an intelligence agent, played by Simu Liu as Alexander Hale, whose mind is hacked. He then has to demonstrate where his true allegiances lie. Melissa Barrera co-stars as Michelle, and the cast also features Sinclair Daniel, Brian d’Arcy James, Mark O’Brien, and Kathleen Chalfant.
Are you in? #TheCopenhagenTest arrives December 27 on Peacock.

Filming for the show began in Toronto in October 2024 and wrapped up in March. Peacock initially greenlit the project earlier in the year. Jennifer Yale teamed up with Brandon as co-showrunner, while James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett from Atomic Monster are executive producers. Simu Liu is also contributing creatively, and Jet Wilkinson directed the first two episodes.
As filming progressed, the cast continued to grow. Sara Amini joined the production in a significant recurring role, followed shortly by the announcement that Saul Rubinek would also be joining the cast.
Now that the trailer has been released, viewers are getting a first impression of the show’s overall feel and speed. The preview hints at a blend of thrilling spy sequences and advanced technology, as Hale investigates the forces controlling him and their motives.
