Official Elden Ring Guidebooks In Stock For First Time In Months

The long-awaited strategy guides for Elden Ring, titled “Books of Knowledge Volume 1: The Lands Between” and “Volume 2: Shards of the Shattering“, are once again available on Amazon. These books have been unavailable for most of this year and all of 2024. This is the first restock since last December, and they’re expected to sell out fast, just as they did then.

In the course of crafting this tale, I noticed an interesting price adjustment: Volume 1 stands firm at its full cost of $50, while Volume 2 saw a decrease to $42.49. Remarkably, both prices represent significant savings compared to reseller listings from the past 1.5 years. The final installment, Volume 3: Shadow of the Erdtree, completes the set and can be found listed at Amazon for $37.66 (originally priced at $45).

Publications from Future Press often remain out-of-stock for extended periods following a sellout, and it cannot be guaranteed they will be reprinted again. For example, the Dark Souls Trilogy Compendium has been out of stock for over a year, while the Sekiro guidebook is no longer available. However, there was a recent reprinting of the Armored Core VI Pilot’s Manual, which had been unavailable for over half a year. Last year’s Bloodborne Complete Guide is currently in stock on Amazon.

Elden Ring’s Official Hardcover Strategy Guides:

  • Elden Ring: The Lands Between – Books of Knowledge Volume 1 — $50
  • Elden Ring: Shards of the Shattering – Books of Knowledge Volume 2 — $42.49 ($50)
  • Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree – Books of Knowledge Volume 3 — $37.67 ($45)

Besides the trio of official strategy guides for Elden Ring, there are additional Elden Ring and From Software books that fans can explore once they put down their controllers. Here are some recommendations:

1. “Elden Ring: The Art of the Lands Between” – This book offers a stunning collection of concept art, character designs, and environment illustrations from the game’s development process.

2. “Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice – Art of the Sword Saint” – For those who enjoyed Elden Ring’s dark fantasy world, this book showcases the beautiful artwork that brought Sekiro to life, offering a deeper look into the lore and design of the game.

3. “Dark Souls: A Designer’s Sketchbook” – This behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Dark Souls, another popular title from FromSoftware, offers fans an inside peek into the artistic process that shaped one of gaming’s most iconic franchises.

4. “Bloodborne: Cryptic Chronicles” – For those who appreciate the rich lore and intricate world-building found in Elden Ring, this book delves deeper into the mysterious world of Bloodborne, another masterpiece from FromSoftware.

5. “Dark Souls III: A Collector’s Edition Guide” – This comprehensive guide covers everything players need to know about Dark Souls III, including lore, boss strategies, and detailed maps of every area in the game.

Elden Ring: The Road to the Erdtree Manga

In case you’re seeking a humorous and light-hearted comic book set in The Lands Between, let me clarify that “The Road to Erdtree” is not it. Instead, this manga offers a comedic take on Elden Ring’s world, and its writing quality is commendable. If you’re an Elden Ring enthusiast, I highly recommend giving it a read, even if you haven’t finished the game yet. Keep in mind that having prior knowledge of the game might enrich your reading experience, but it isn’t strictly necessary to enjoy the manga.

  • Volume 1 — $11.70 ($13)
  • Volume 2 — $11.70 ($13)

From Software Games – Official Strategy Guides

Last year, I found myself deeply engrossed in the captivating world of FromSoftware games, as Future Press dedicated their efforts to crafting intricate guides. To mark its 25th anniversary, this esteemed publisher has re-released two of their most cherished gaming books: the much-admired Bloodborne Complete Guide and the comprehensive Dark Souls Trilogy Compendium. The latter, published in April 2024, offers a meticulous exploration spanning all three Dark Souls games across its extensive 480 pages. Similar to their Elden Ring guides, these Bloodborne and Dark Souls books were painstakingly crafted in close collaboration with FromSoftware. Regrettably, only the Bloodborne book is currently up for purchase at a reasonable price.

Just a heads up, Future Press has recently reissued the out-of-stock Armored Core VI Pilot’s Manual, available for purchase at Amazon for $45. Here is a comprehensive collection of From Software game strategy guides, all published by Future Press:

1. Elden Ring: The Official Strategy Guide
2. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice – The Collector’s Edition Strategy Guide
3. Dark Souls III: The Official Strategy Guide

On Amazon, you’ll find numerous fan-created strategy guides and lore books about From Software games. However, only a few official strategy guides by Future Press remain in print: The Bloodborne Complete Guide, Dark Souls Trilogy Compendium, Elden Ring strategy guides, and Armored Core 6’s Pilot’s Manual, which has been out of stock since the last holiday season.

Officially, art books for Elden Ring, Bloodborne, Dark Souls, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice have been released by Udon Entertainment and Yen Press respectively.

From Software Games – Official Art Books

  • Bloodborne Official Artworks (Paperback) — $32 ($45)

The trilogy of Dark Souls Design Works books, initially released in Japanese, were brought to English audiences by Udon Entertainment. As of now, the first volume can be directly purchased from Amazon, while the second and third volumes are rather expensive when bought from resellers. If you’re primarily interested in the art rather than the text, the original Japanese editions from Kadokawa on Amazon are more affordable, particularly Dark Souls III: Design Works compared to its English counterpart. At this point, only the Japanese version of Armored Core 6’s art book, published by Kadokawa, has been released.

  • Dark Souls: Design Works (Japanese Edition) — $33
  • Dark Souls II: Design Works (Japanese Edition) — $43.74
  • Dark Souls III: Design Works (Japanese Edition) — $43
  • Armored Core VI: Official Art Works (Japanese Edition) — $46 ($50)

In the near future, Press Future has released an extensive 700-page strategic manual titled “Metaphor: ReFantazio.” Enthusiasts of Atlus JRPGs can grab this limited edition find priced at $45 (originally $55) on Amazon.
