Oblivion Remastered: How to join the Dark Brotherhood

In video games like The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, murder can be an engaging pastime – but only within the virtual world. This game invites you to delve into the profession of assassination by joining the clandestine Dark Brotherhood. As a secret society, they carry out contracts for payment in the shadows, making them an appealing choice for anyone with a penchant for stealth and intrigue.

In the game Oblivion, we’ll guide you through the steps on how to become a member of the Dark Brotherhood, allowing you to satisfy your thirst for beheading.

How to join the Dark Brotherhood

It’s easy: Murder someone. No really, that’s it.

You’re not allowed to kill certain non-player characters (NPCs), such as peaceful villagers or guards, but if you do, a message will appear at the top of your screen saying “Your actions have been noticed by unidentified forces…” This lets you know that you’ve taken an action that could potentially lead to consequences.

After receiving the message, make your way to any property you have – it could be an inn too – and rest there for the night. A representative from the Dark Brotherhood will awaken you, providing a new location and your initial task as a means of demonstrating your capabilities.

From that point onward, your journey unfolds. It’s similar to becoming a member of the Thieves Guild; every quest in this series accumulates notoriety points (and so does getting caught for murder), hence it would be wise to sign up with the Fighters Guild initially, as excessive notoriety can hinder your entry into their ranks.
