More recently, Xbox Insider NateTheHate touched upon this topic during his podcast, implying that a re-release of Oblivion is tentatively set for June 2025. He hinted at Microsoft’s approach to keep the momentum going by continuously providing fresh content for Xbox and Game Pass members.
Backing up this assertion, a Virtuos team member’s LinkedIn profile indicates they have been working on an ‘unannounced UE5 PS5/XSX/PC remake’. With past speculation linking Virtuos to an Oblivion project, it’s plausible that this could be connected to the rumored remake in progress.

In the initial leaked files, the term ‘project’ was used in reference to a ‘remaster’, not a ‘remake’. The pushback to 2025 could hint at a move towards a more extensive overhaul, possibly turning it into a full remake. Furthermore, these same documents also suggested potential remasters or remakes for ‘Fallout 3’, but as of now, there’s no official word on either project.
