Oasis Feud: Liam Gallagher Reserves Seat For Brother Noel At Every Show Despite Conflict

As a lifelong Oasis fan, hailing from the rain-soaked streets of Manchester, I can hardly contain my excitement as I write these words. The Gallagher brothers’ reunion after 16 long years is nothing short of a miracle for us die-hard fans who have weathered countless storms and heartaches since their infamous split in 2009.

16 years since the notorious breakup of Oasis, the Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam, are reuniting on the Gigs tour – a significant milestone for rock music. Despite their decade-long feud, Liam has always held a deep affection for his estranged sibling, as evidenced by various thoughtful gestures starting in 2014, first noticed by an observant fan.

In 2021, a musician aged 51 made it known that he consistently reserved seats for Noel Gallagher during his solo concerts. When someone asked if the empty seats marked with Noel’s name were indeed intended for him, Liam replied on X (previously Twitter). Back then, Liam simply said, “You never know.”

Over the weekend at the Reading Festival, Liam Gallagher dedicated a new song to his elder brother and ex-bandmate from Oasis.

57-year-old Noel Gallagher served as the main songwriter and lead guitarist for the renowned English rock band that was established in Manchester back in 1991. However, tensions flared during the rehearsals prior to a performance at the Rock En Seine Festival in Paris, according to The Sun.

In August 2009, an argument between bandmates resulted in their separation from the group, known as Oasis, and a significant decline in their performances and tour. Later, Noel publicly announced his departure, saying, “I regretfully inform you that I have left Oasis tonight, with a mix of sadness and relief.”

Furthermore, the musician, who eventually created the group known as High Flying Birds, acknowledged and braced for the storm of critique and speculation his move would stir up, but remained firm in his choice. Noel clarified that he could no longer collaborate with Liam for another single day.

On Tuesday, August 27th, Oasis confirmed plans for a reunion tour scheduled across 14 dates in the UK and Ireland in the year 2025. These “home-based” concerts are tentatively set to occur at stadiums located in Cardiff, London, their hometown Manchester, Edinburgh, and Dublin during July and August of the upcoming year.

The Gigs tour serves as a sign that the Gallagher brothers have put an end to their long-standing disagreement, although it’s uncertain if fans can expect new music from them in the near future. Intriguingly, the Gallaghers recently collaborated on a clandestine photo shoot, which will soon be available as posters for the 2025 Oasis tour.

“This secret filming took place with only a few knowing of its existence. It’s going to be quite a spectacle for fans when they see their favorites together again. The air in the room was charged, pulsating with energy,” a source shared with The Sun.

On the very same day of the announcement, Liam and No Gallagher released a joint statement, working together with Oasis’ official Instagram account. The caption read like a complex song lyric as they struck a monochrome pose. Notably, the post hinted that the tour would not be broadcasted on television.

Although the performers haven’t been finalized yet, the tour is scheduled to commence on July 4, 2025, in Cardiff and continue until August 17, wrapping up the home stage in Dublin. According to a recent announcement, there are rumors that this tour might extend beyond Europe for international performances, as suggested by The Guardian.

30 years have passed since the iconic British rock group, The Oasis, put out their second studio album, “(What’s the Story?) Morning Glory” in 1995, and now they are reuniting.
