NYCC 2026 Dates Announced as 250K Flock to New York Comic Con 2025

As a huge comic and movie fan, I just got back from New York Comic Con, and wow, it was incredible! It felt bigger than ever, with over 250,000 of us packed into the Javits Center from October 9th to the 12th. There was everything you could want – I saw some of my favorite actors, got a sneak peek at upcoming projects, met amazing comic book artists, and the cosplay was just phenomenal. It was a truly unforgettable weekend!

I was so excited to hear about the incredible impact New York Comic Con had on the city! Apparently, it brought around $35 million to New York City’s economy, which is fantastic. And the best part? Organizers just announced that NYCC will be back from October 8th to 11th, 2026, celebrating its 20th anniversary! I’m already counting down the days.

New York Comic Con’s exhibit hall was packed with over 650 vendors selling exclusive merchandise and collectibles from popular brands like Funko, Bandai, Marvel, Capcom, Penguin Random House, Scholastic, and Webtoon.

Artist Alley featured more than 500 creators, including well-known names like George R.R. Martin, J. Scott Campbell, Jeph Loeb, Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Joe Hill, Stephanie Phillips, and Denys Cowan.

Cosplay Competition Winners

As a huge fan of cosplay, I was blown away by the qualifying round of the Cosplay Central Crown Championships on October 11th. The level of skill and imagination on display was just incredible – seriously, some of the best craftsmanship I’ve ever seen at a show!

  • First Place: Say No to Scrunchies (The Last of Us wall clicker)
  • Second Place & Fan Favorite: Annie Ex Machina (Critical Role’s Mollymauk Tealeaf)
  • Third Place: Akellyz (The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom)

The winners in each category were Warheart Cosplay (representing *Gears of War*), Honeybird Cosplay (*Hook*), and Rotten Artist (*Dead by Daylight*). Judges Sayakat Cosplay, Silhouette, and May Jean Cosplay evaluated the entries based on their design, how accurately they recreated the character, and the performer’s presentation.

ReedPop Praises the Community

Kristina Rogers, a VP at ReedPop, highlighted that New York Comic Con is more than just a convention—it’s a vibrant community. She explained that the enthusiastic energy fans bring to the event is what truly makes it special. Rogers also noted that NYCC consistently raises the bar for live events, and the strong involvement of studios, creators, and fans demonstrates the community’s significant influence on pop culture.

Fans Watch Online and Plan for 2026

People who couldn’t make it to New York Comic Con were still able to watch the biggest panels live thanks to streams on social media and Popverse, ReedPop’s website for pop culture news.

As a huge fan of all things pop culture, I’m already marking my calendar! New York Comic Con is coming back to the Javits Center from October 8th to 11th, 2026, and it’s a big one – they’re celebrating 20 years of NYCC! I can’t wait to see what amazing panels, artists, and experiences they’ll have.
