As it seems that Richard Rider could soon join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there’s been an evident increase in his development within Marvel Comics, particularly with the latest “Imperial” storyline.
According to the latest announcement from Marvel Comics, Jed MacKay and Jonathan Hickman are set to pen the first issue of “Imperial War: Nova โ Centurion“, while Matteo Della Fonte will handle the artwork.
The debut of ‘Imperial’ occurred last week, and it’s essentially a space-set version of ‘Game of Thrones’. Personally, I found it merely acceptable. To be honest, I’m not particularly fond of Hickman’s style, and the artwork seemed to blend elements of American comics art with Manga in a way that didn’t quite gel for me in a cosmic setting. However, I must admit that it displayed more potential than what Marvel Cosmic has offered over the past decade.
I too find it odd that Nova always wears that jacket. It’s acceptable if he’s casually wearing it in a bar or similar setting, but it seems unnecessary and a bit comical when it’s tucked into his gauntlets. The suit itself should be enough to keep him warm, so the jacket just doesn’t seem necessary.
IMPERIAL WAR: NOVA โ CENTURION #1 details
Via Marvel.com, Imperial War: Nova โ Centurion #1 gets released September 10.
As a passionate cinephile, I’m eagerly anticipating the upcoming movie, “IMPERIAL WAR: NOVA โ CENTURION.” The fate of the Xandarian Worldmind hangs in the balance and can only be saved if Rich Rider manages to amass the necessary credits. Therefore, Nova finds himself in a precarious situation where he must barter his skills to the highest bidder, ready with helmet on, to travel wherever duty calls!
MacKay expressed great enthusiasm about embarking on the Human Rocket journey and discovering the fresh cosmic scene that Imperial has introduced. He mentioned that significant celestial societies appear to be realigning, and he can’t wait to find his place among them once everything falls into place.
MacKay found Rich particularly intriguing. Throughout his history, he’s often been labeled as a newcomer, from his Spider-Man-like beginnings with the New Warriors to his role during Annihilation. Now, he stands as the last representative of the old guard, a war veteran whose battles seem like ancient history. The question arises: is Nova still significant in today’s context, given the emergence of IMPERIAL?
2nd issue of Imperial releases on July 16, followed by the 3rd on August 20, with #4 coming in September. Additionally, there are several standalone titles such as Imperial War: Exiles, Planet She-Hulk, Guardians, and Panther Rex.
The second installment of Imperial drops on July 16, the third one on August 20, and the fourth in September. Other one-shots include titles like Imperial War: Exiles, Planet She-Hulk, Guardians, and Panther Rex.
