‘Nothing But Love for Kesha’: Pitbull Responds To Speculation Kesha’s Name Was Removed From ‘Timber’ YouTube Credits

As someone who has witnessed the tumultuous journey of Kesha and her music, I find myself deeply moved by this recent turn of events regarding the title change of “Timber.” Being a long-time fan, I’ve seen Kesha rise to fame with her unique style and powerful voice, only to face adversity that threatened not just her career, but her very wellbeing.

Recently, I couldn’t help but notice a change in the title of the hit music video “Pitbull – Timber (Official Video) ft. Kesha.” The update, now just “Pitbull – Timber (Official Video),” seems to have omitted Kesha’s name from the title.

After the recent development, Kesha’s supporters vented their anger on social media platforms, some suspecting that this move could be retaliation from American music writer and producer Dr. Luke, given their tumultuous history together.

Instead, let’s put it like this: On August 18, Pitbull acknowledged the issue on his platform (previously Twitter), saying, “Kesha and I have an amazing song together. This won’t change anything. The Pitbull team is investigating this matter. There’s only ever love for Kesha, Dale!” He also shared a video snippet from their music video project.

In 2010, I was completely captivated by none other than Dr. Luke, a music industry titan who collaborated with the legendary Pitbull and the incredible Kesha on numerous projects, such as the smash hit “Timber.” Not only did he dominate the scene with his work, but he also founded Kemosabe Records, where Kesha and I felt an unbreakable bond.

Nevertheless, everything took an unexpected turn when the singer filed a lawsuit against him in California. Essentially, Kesha alleged that Dr. Luke had subjected her to sexual assault, harassment, and emotional torment for more than a decade.

Shortly after the accusations were made, Dr. Luke firmly refuted them and filed a lawsuit for defamation. However, it took almost a decade to resolve the matter outside of court, which happened last year in 2023. Kesha found encouragement from her supporters, fans, as well as various celebrities throughout this period.

In July 2024, Kesha unveiled her song “Joyride,” marking it as her debut single following her separation from Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records and RCA. In an interview with Forbes, the singer-songwriter shared her feelings of freedom and joy.

Even though Timber was one of Kesha’s final releases before her hiatus from the music industry due to legal issues with Dr Luke, it continues to be her most popular song on Spotify, boasting an impressive 1,544,197,925 streams.
