‘No Desire To See It’: Quentin Tarantino Is A ‘Big Fan’ Of Toy Story 3; Refuses To Watch Fourth Film

As a lifestyle expert with a rich background in cinema, I must admit that Quentin Tarantino‘s stance on Toy Story 4 resonates with me to some extent. Much like him, I too have certain films or series that I believe should have ended at a particular point and leaving no room for sequels. The beauty of art lies in its subjectivity, and while I appreciate the creativity behind Toy Story 4, I can understand Tarantino’s sentiment.

Quentin Tarantino is an ardent fan of Toy Story, particularly the original trilogy. He’s made it clear that he has no intention of watching the fourth installment in the animated series. In a recent episode of Bill Maher’s Club Random podcast, Tarantino discussed his reasons for not watching Toy Story 4 and stated that he currently has no desire to do so.

In the podcast discussion, the Academy Award-winning director expressed that he believes the third installment in the cherished Disney/Pixar series is the greatest animated movie he has ever encountered. Even though he isn’t typically fond of animated films, this trilogy managed to captivate him deeply, as he admitted, “There was a moment where you might not have liked it, but I am a huge, ardent fan.”

“He said, ‘The third film is simply amazing; it’s among the best movies I’ve ever watched. If you’ve seen the first two, it’s truly heartbreaking.’ When Maher admitted he wasn’t familiar with the franchise featuring Tom Hanks as Woody the cowboy doll and Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear.”

Quentin Tarantino shared his thoughts on the matter, stating that the series should’ve concluded with its third film in 2010. In his view, this final installment couldn’t have had a more fitting conclusion. Later, three years passed, and they made a fourth movie, but he has no interest in watching it.

Quentin Tarantino emphasized that even if the fourth movie is excellent, he has decided to stop making films after seeing the final installment of Toy Story 3. “You’ve wrapped up the story as flawlessly as possible,” he said, “so no, it doesn’t matter how good it is. I’m finished. It can still be good, but I’m done!” he concluded.

Following the director’s comments, as a die-hard fan, I couldn’t help but casually poke fun at his masterpiece Kill Bill, remarking, “So, no more Kill Bill 3 then?” To which he swiftly retorted, “I finished off Bill!” Now, Disney has given us a glimpse into the future with their tease of the fifth installment of their animated film at the D23 convention. They’ve hinted that it will delve into the characters’ battle to win a child’s attention away from digital devices.

Allen indicated that he has been offered the chance to once again portray Buzz, as confirmed by Bob Iger, Disney’s CEO. During his recent interview on The Tonight Show, he stated, “Bob said it was a go.” He further mentioned, “In fact, they’ve extended invitations for both Tom and me to reprise our roles.”
