‘No Alarm’: Hoda Kotb Embraces Life Post Exit From Today Show; Sends Best Wishes To Former Colleagues

Hoda Kotb has stepped down after 17 years of dedicated work on the Today show, as indicated by her deactivating her morning alarms and posting about it on Instagram on January 12th. Her caption read: “No alarm … whaaaaaaaattttt???” expressing her surprise at this change.

The screenshot displayed that her daily alarms, set from 3 am to 3:30 am and previously active for the NBC morning show, were now deactivated. This revelation exposed the former host’s call times for the show. Savannah Guthrie, her ex-colleague, reacted sweetly to this change. “Oh, so thrilled for you,” she expressed. “And why am I still up at this hour?” she humorously added.

Instead of her role, the news broadcaster and chat-show presenter chose to step down to devote more attention to her loved ones. Following the declaration made in September of the previous year, she wrapped up filming for her last episode on January 10th.

In an earlier post, she expressed encouragement to her ex-colleagues Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin, who are taking over from her on the show starting January 13. “Wake up in the morning … and knock ’em dead @savannahguthrie @craigmelvinnbc,” read the caption of their shared Instagram post. “I am cheering you on,” she said.

Kotb also posted a heartfelt note to her previous colleague, Jenna Bush Hager: “Sleep soundly – and then…the next morning…Start anew…You’re pure magic!” on her Instagram.
