The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 will let players use a USB mouse, a developer has confirmed.
As a gaming enthusiast, I was already thrilled about the new Joy-Cons featuring a mouse sensor. But now, there’s even more to look forward to! In a fresh video from Koei Tecmo, shared by VGC, producer Michi Ryu from Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening Complete Edition, gave us a sneak peek at how the system can be seamlessly integrated with a mouse. Can’t wait to get my hands on this innovative gaming experience!
As a gamer, I can say that the features are identical to the one you’ve already played on Steam. You’ll be using left clicks, right clicks, and the scroll wheel just as before.
In the video, he manipulated the Joy-Con’s joystick as if it were a mouse scroll wheel. Additionally, he demonstrated that the left Joy-Con 2 could be utilized for keyboard shortcuts.
After that, I swapped out my old wired controller with a USB mouse for a test run. Each device switch was confirmed on-screen by a prompt, keeping me updated on the change.
Players can choose between using the built-in Joy-Con sensor or a USB mouse, whichever they find more convenient for their gaming experience.
In addition to the Switch 2, you’ll find enhanced functionalities for the GameChat, Nintendo’s communication platform. Initially, at its debut, GameChat will offer text-to-speech conversion and real-time subtitles.
Nintendo mentioned that they might store video and audio conversations from your console, but only with your explicit permission. These recordings are solely examined if a user is reported, aiming to maintain the platform as secure and friendly for all ages.
For using GameChat, it’s essential that players sign up with their phone numbers. As for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, it seems to be progressing towards a more sophisticated platform, offering innovative gameplay experiences and secure online communication options to its users.
