Nina Hoss and Ina Weisse Team Up Again for Berlin International Film Festival’s Cicadas; See Trailer Here

Nina Hoss returns once more, teaming up with Ina Weisse, in the eagerly awaited film titled “Cicadas.” If you’re unfamiliar, this marks their second joint project, which premiered at this year’s Berlin Film Festival.

In the newly unveiled preview, there’s an appealing scene filled with trees and a dimly lit path. Shortly after, a young girl and her financially strained mother appear on screen.

In the subsequent part, Saskia Rosendahl’s character appears to relocate to a new location in pursuit of employment, where she encounters the character of Hoss.

As they cross a bridge, it becomes clearer by the moment that Rosendahl’s Isabell and Hoss’s Anja share a connection, since her father once worked for her. Over time, they form a strong bond while assisting one another in their trailer. Amidst their tumultuous lives, these two women discover tranquility in each other’s company.

According to Deadline, the film centers around Isabelle, who finds herself caring for her elderly parents who can no longer live independently. As she searches for additional help, she simultaneously struggles with her troubled marriage to Philippe, portrayed by Vincent Macaigne.

In the movie, we’ll follow Isabelle as she journeys from Berlin to her parents’ contemporary weekend retreat, a house her father constructed during his healthier years.

In the course of events, Isabell encounters the mysterious figure of Anja, who happens to be a solitary parent. Over time, Anja along with her child Greta, gradually become part of Isabell’s life. An unforeseen connection takes shape between Anja and Isabell.

Despite these times, Isabell still grapples with doubt about a life she once knew. The boundaries between the characters portrayed by Anja and Nina Hoss are becoming less clear. Prior to the Berlin Film Festival project in question, Nina Hoss and Ina Weisse had previously collaborated on The Audition 2019.
