Last year, the Nike Air Max Sunder celebrated its 25th anniversary, and Nike pulled out all the stops for its comeback. Since then, an array of color schemes have been introduced, with Nike introducing updates that range from GORE-TEX to a freshly ventilated upper. Recently, another version featuring a Cordura-backed upper has been revealed as part of the remix lineup.
As I take my first glance at the Nike Air Max Sunder “Cordura”, it starts with a striking blue mudguard adorned with small, light blue dots over a navy base. The dark blue hue in this design aligns perfectly with the midsole and heel overlay, the latter being a nod to the Alpha Project program that launched back in 1999 and brought shoes like the Air Max Sunder into existence. The top layer of the shoe features one of Cordura’s durable re/cor fabrics made from recycled materials, showcasing a vibrant sky blue abstract spray pattern. Finally, orange accents and a black outsole tie together this fresh new look.
As of now, Nike hasn’t given a release date for the Cordura-enhanced Air Max Sunder. Keep an eye out for announcements, including potential sneak peeks of the shoes, as we expect it to hit stores around the holiday season, potentially through Nike SNKRS and select retailers, with a price tag that might be higher than its usual $180 USD.
