It started when Russell Brand posted a picture wearing a hat that said “Make Jesus First Again.” Scherzinger responded by asking where she could buy one, and included heart and prayer emojis with her comment.
The comment immediately faced backlash, with many pointing out its resemblance to the political rhetoric used in Donald Trump’s campaign.
I was really relieved to see Nicole quickly take down her comment and apologize. She explained she absolutely didn’t intend to make a political statement, and that she truly cares about the people, especially those in marginalized communities, who were upset by the election results. She said she’s always stood with them, and anyone who knows her would agree.
Even though some people reacted negatively, Scherzinger stated she has no regrets about publicly sharing her faith in Jesus. She feels many others in the entertainment industry secretly share similar beliefs.
Many famous actors, including Chris Pratt, Mark Wahlberg, Denzel Washington, and Patricia Heaton, openly share her Christian faith. They all believe faith is a significant part of who they are, both personally and professionally, and they’ve been willing to talk about it even when facing criticism.
