As a total film buff, I was so excited to see photos from the New York premiere of ‘Scarpetta’! Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis looked absolutely stunning as they arrived, both rocking chic black outfits. This TV series is based on the popular novels by Patricia Cornwell. It’s the first time her famous character, Dr. Kay Scarpetta, has been adapted for television.

She’s going to be using some really cutting-edge science to crack tough cases. And it’s not just about the mysteries, though. Jamie Lee Curtis is playing Scarpetta’s sister, and apparently their relationship is pretty complex, which should add a lot of emotional depth to the show. I’m hoping that sibling dynamic will be a key part of what makes it so good.

Both actresses are also executive producers on the project, taking a hands-on role behind the scenes. Nicole Kidman has wanted to play the character for almost twenty years and has been working towards it through her production company, Blossom Films. Jamie Lee Curtis is also involved through her company, Comet Pictures.
Prime Video will release the first season of Scarpetta on March 11th. The show stars Ariana DeBose, Bobby Cannavale, and Simon Baker, and the first season will have eight episodes. A second season is also planned.
Beyond their work on Scarpetta, both actresses have been keeping busy. Nicole Kidman recently starred in the thrillers Babygirl and The Perfect Couple, and is set to reprise her role in a Practical Magic sequel alongside Sandra Bullock. Jamie Lee Curtis, fresh off her Oscar win for Everything Everywhere All at Once, has finished filming the comedy Ella McCay with James L. Brooks and is likely to return for a sequel to Freaky Friday.
