Nicolas Cage’s ‘Spider-Noir’ Trailer Drops – See the Dark New Spider-Man and Premiere Date

As a huge cinema fan, I’m really excited about Nicolas Cage playing Spider-Man! But not the Spider-Man you’re used to. He’s starring as Spider-Noir in a new Prime Video series, and the first trailer just dropped. It’s a totally different take on the classic Marvel character, and it looks amazing!

Nicolas Cage stars as Ben Reilly, a former superhero now working as a down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York City. He’s haunted by his past as the city’s famous web-slinging hero and must confront it. The trailer highlights Cage’s portrayal of both a tired detective and a masked vigilante. The show’s tagline, “With No Power Comes No Responsibility,” perfectly captures its mood.

The new live-action series “Spider-Noir,” featuring Nicolas Cage, is coming to Prime Video on May 27th. It’s presented in striking black and white, with select scenes in full color, playing on the idea that ‘with no power comes no responsibility.’

Prime Video announced that Spider-Noir will launch on May 27th, with all episodes released at the same time for viewers to watch as they please. A unique feature of the series is the ability to choose how you watch: in classic black and white, mirroring the original comic books, or in full color.

The show features a talented cast including Lamorne Morris (known for Fargo), Li Jun Li (from Sinners), Karen Rodriguez (of The Hunting Wives), Abraham Popoola (starring in Slow Horses), Jack Huston (of Boardwalk Empire), and the acclaimed Brendan Gleeson (from The Banshees of Inisherin).

Spider-Noir is a production of Sony Pictures Television for MGM+ and Prime Video. The first two episodes were directed by Harry Bradbeer, who also directed the acclaimed series Fleabag, and he served as an executive producer. Oren Uziel (The Lost City) and Steve Lightfoot (The Punisher) worked as showrunners alongside Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal – the team behind the animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse – to develop the series.

Spider-Noir offers a fresh, gritty take on Spider-Man, mixing classic detective stories with thrilling superhero action. Fans are excited to see how Nicolas Cage’s powerful performance will shape this distinctive version of the Spider-Verse.
