Nicki Minaj Announces Shift In Musical Plans As She Replaces Pink Friday 2 Deluxe With New Album PF3; Release Date To Be Announced Soon

As a devoted fan who has followed Nicki Minaj’s career since her Barbie Dreams, I can confidently say that this new chapter in her Pink Friday series is going to be nothing short of extraordinary. With each album, she continues to evolve and push boundaries, and PF3 promises to be no exception.

Nicki Minaj, renowned for her Anaconda hit, is preparing to launch a fresh phase in her music career. Instead of releasing an extended Pink Friday 2 album as initially planned, she’s opting for a third addition to the Pink Friday series. This news was shared on September 15th, following the passing of the release date for PF2: Gag City Reloaded Deluxe edition without any sign of the new project appearing.

In her Sunday post on X, Minaj said that Barbz can expect a release date for PF3 soon.

Rather than releasing a deluxe edition of Pink Friday 2, I’ve opted to create an entirely fresh album instead. I’ll continue to include songs like “#Mamita” and “[The ‘anxiety’] song” during the rest of my tour, but I’ll unveil the new release date within the upcoming weeks.

Minaj explained that she’s decided to alter her plans because the freshly recorded music is simply too exceptional to discard on a deluxe edition. She promised her fans that during the countdown to her upcoming album, they will receive something to cherish in the meantime.

Minaj continued in her tweet: “PF3 is about to do PRECISELY wtf BEEN needed to be done.”

The artist went on to share that she’s thrilled, grateful, and cherished by her fans, and since December 8, 2023, she has gained valuable insights. Expanding on these insights, Minaj mentioned that her second album (PF2) holds a unique significance for her as it was her first release after the birth of Papa Bear. She explained that this album is deeply meaningful to her due to numerous reasons that fans may not be privy to, and the music within follows a particular sequence to communicate a specific message. Consequently, Nicki intends to treat her final album with the “due respect and integrity” it merits, refraining from any further additions.

Nicki Minaj, who’s currently touring North America as part of her PF2 World Tour (second leg), shared that initially adding a couple of songs to the album seemed doable, but increasing it to five to seven tracks felt substantial. She went on to clarify that she opted to turn the PF2 deluxe edition into PF3, stressing her intention to be thoughtful with every decision concerning both PF2 and PF3.

On Tuesday, September 17, Nicki Minaj will visit Dallas. Afterward, she’s scheduled to travel to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Miami, and finally Raleigh. Her tour concludes in Queens on October 11.
