In the upcoming week, Firaxis will roll out update 1.2.3 for Civilization 7 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and an anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. This update brings significant modifications to the game.
The new update features several enhancements to the way ages transition, based on community feedback. From now on, you’ll see a countdown that begins ten turns before the age change. This will help players know exactly how much time they have left to finish any remaining tasks of the current age.
In addition, a fresh feature called “Continuity” will be available for players. This setting ensures that your units won’t be moved to random spots at the beginning of the next era; instead, they’ll maintain their current positions. Consequently, planning strategies at the onset of a new age becomes more strategic, as you can now formulate invasion plans even across transition periods.
Firaxis has been instrumental in refining the development of leader interactions across different eras, making them less random and more fluid post-update.
Patch 1.2.3 will also bring the long overdue auto-explore feature to Scouts and equivalent units.
Trung Trac is about to be strengthened with an exciting addition – her sibling, Trung Nhi, joining as a fresh Commander. She’ll come equipped with a tailored unit setup, distinctive promotion path art, and a one-of-a-kind gameplay style.
As a gamer, I’m pumped about the sneak peek Firaxis gave us on upcoming updates! They hinted at plenty of tweaks and improvements, but they’re saving the details for next week when we can check out the complete patch notes. Can’t wait to see what’s in store!
