Electronic Arts (EA) recently unveiled their latest financial summary detailing the figures from Q4 of fiscal year 2025 and the entire preceding fiscal year. In this report, CEO Andrew Wilson has affirmed that the upcoming Battlefield game will be officially introduced during Summer 2025, with a launch scheduled within fiscal year 2026, which ends in March 2026.
Looking ahead, we’re optimistic about our capacity to bring numerous projects to life, starting this coming summer with the exciting unveiling of Battlefield. This move represents a crucial milestone in creating our future lineup of groundbreaking entertainment. – Wilson’s statement.
Electronic Arts (EA) currently has multiple studios dedicating their efforts towards developing the new first-person shooter game. To guarantee a satisfying experience for the franchise’s devoted fanbase, EA is carrying out its most extensive testing process ever during this game’s development phase.
Previously, Wilson stated that the community’s feedback on the play test and Battlefield Labs initiative surpassed their optimistic predictions, receiving an incredibly favorable response.
The unnamed shooter project, a collaborative effort between DICE, Criterion, Motive, and Ripple Effect, is currently underway. According to Wilson, this Battlefield installment is expected to be the largest we’ve ever constructed or at least have built so far. It boasts an immense scale in terms of gameplay breadth and depth.
Split Fiction close to four million sales, Apex expected to decline
Additionally, EA announced that the cooperative game Split Fiction has been exceptionally profitable for them, with nearly four million units sold since it debuted in March 2025.
Credit for Electronic Arts’ strong financial results was attributed mainly to the EA Sports lineup, particularly College Football and FIFA, as well as The Sims. As stated by Wilson, “The success of College Football and the continued strength of FIFA contributed to another record year for EA Sports in FY25, while The Sims concluded FY25 with a remarkable Q4.
In the fiscal year 2025, EA Sports games achieved a new high in total earnings, with American Football titles surpassing $1 billion USD. Interestingly, EA FC, which experienced a slight downturn previously, demonstrated a robust comeback, as indicated by the report that “player monetization increased significantly” after gameplay updates implemented in January 2025.
In simple terms, Electronic Arts (EA) anticipates its live-service segment will increase in fiscal year 2026, mainly due to sports games and The Sims. These games are projected to counterbalance the potential drop of Apex Legends and a weakening catalog. Furthermore, EA is counting on Battlefield and Skate launches for extra income. Beyond that, they hint at the introduction of new non-annual titles in fiscal year 2027.
More EA on DBLTAP:
Given that Star Wars: Zero Company isn’t featured in the FY2026 projection, it’s plausible that the upcoming turn-based tactics game slated for 2026 may fall outside of April and be considered among the non-annual titles for FY2027. It could also be that Electronic Arts (EA) doesn’t anticipate
