Marvel released a new trailer for its upcoming Disney+ show, Wonder Man, giving fans their first good look at the hero’s abilities.
The video shifts from humorous moments and entertainment news to more traditional superhero action. This is the first time many Marvel Cinematic Universe fans get a good look at the full potential of Simon Williams’ character.
Yoon Kye-sang seems destined to play Simon Williams, but fame always brings scrutiny. Don’t miss #WonderMan, a new 8-episode series, starting January 27th at 6 PM Pacific Time, exclusively on Disney+.

The new series centers around the Marvel character Wonder Man, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. He portrays Simon Williams, an actor hoping to get the lead role in a superhero film – one that’s actually based on his own life as a comic book hero. The show is a fun mix of Hollywood drama and superhero action, with plenty of comedy. Ben Kingsley reprises his role as Trevor Slattery, a character fans will recognize from previous Marvel movies.
The new trailer from Marvel Studios reveals that Wonder Man’s powers will be portrayed differently than in the original comics, which is typical for how Marvel adapts its stories for the big screen.
Despite this, the abilities displayed will likely appeal to superhero enthusiasts and suggest the series will feature plenty of action. This is a change in direction from previous trailers, which emphasized the filmmaking world the show is set in, rather than focusing on superpowers.
Created by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest (who also leads the show), Wonder Man is a new series for Disney+ connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The show stars Arian Moayed, X Mayo, Olivia Thirlby, and other cast members. Filming started in 2023, was paused by the writers’ strike, and finished in 2024. Marvel announced the series officially at the end of 2024.
The new show will premiere on Disney+ on January 27, 2026. All eight episodes are part of Marvel’s Phase Six and will be released under the ‘Marvel Spotlight’ banner, focusing on stories that highlight individual characters.
