New STAR WARS Series in Development from LOST Producer Carlton Cuse

At Star Wars Celebration in Japan, numerous new updates were shared. However, one more Star Wars TV series is being developed, which was only recently announced through Deadline. This upcoming show is being produced by the father-son team of Carlton Cuse (known for Lost and Locke & Key) and Nick Cuse (Station Eleven). At this point, we don’t have any specific details about this series, not even where it fits within the broader Star Wars timeline.

J.J. Abrams’ younger counterpart has previously collaborated with Damon Lindelof on HBO’s hit series ‘Watchmen’. However, this will be their first project together as a team. It is important to note that although this new series is being developed by Lucasfilm, it doesn’t guarantee its release. In recent times, many proposed Star Wars projects announced by Disney never came to fruition. For instance, Patty Jenkins’ ‘Rogue Squadron’ movie and the planned trilogy by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are among those that fell through. Don’t forget about the aborted ‘Lando’ series or the cancelled animated ‘Droids’ show.

It’s merely our conjecture, but could it be the long-rumored live-action Knights of the Old Republic? Kathleen Kennedy, head of Lucasfilm, hinted at its development quite some time ago, but nothing ever materialized. Perhaps Carlton and Nick Cuse have figured out a way to revive this project that fans have been eagerly anticipating as the most desired Star Wars adaptation. If true, this series would likely be expensive to produce due to its setting featuring numerous Jedi and Sith. Here’s hoping we learn more about this enigmatic Star Wars series from Carlton and Nick Cuse soon.
