Now that the One Piece anime is taking a break until April, everyone is focusing on the live-action series coming to Netflix.
After a two-year wait, fans are eagerly anticipating the return of the show! Netflix has announced that Season 2 will premiere on March 10, 2026, and buzz is quickly growing.
A lot of the excitement around the new live-action series is thanks to Tony Tony Chopper. Fans are especially eager to see this beloved reindeer doctor come to life, and a recent teaser trailer shown at Jump Festa 2026 finally gave them a glimpse of him.
The new trailer showcases Chopper and demonstrates how his voice will sound in different languages. It’s also been confirmed that Ikue Otani, the original voice of Chopper in the anime, will reprise her role for the Japanese dub of the live-action series. This news came from the recent Jump Festa event.

Netflix quickly renewed its live-action adaptation of One Piece for both a second and third season, demonstrating a lot of faith in the show’s success. Season 2 was filmed quickly, starting in June 2024 and finishing by December, and the renewal for Season 3 was announced in August – even before Season 2 has been released.
I remember when Netflix first hinted at a second season of One Piece back in September 2023 – the creator, Eiichiro Oda, dropped the news in a video! Since then, they’ve been slowly giving us bits and pieces of information. Just recently, in May 2024, a special birthday video for Luffy gave us a glimpse of Mr. 3, which really got fans buzzing about a possible adaptation of the Alabasta saga. It seems like things are really starting to heat up!
Season 2’s cast is growing! Throughout June 2024, Netflix announced several new actors joining the show, including Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, and David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3. Other new faces joining the cast are Clive Russell (Crocus), Brendan Murray (Brogy), Werner Coetser (Dorry), Callum Kerr (Smoker), Julia Rehwald (Tashigi), Rob Colletti (Wapol), and Ty Keogh (Dalton).
Throughout 2024 and 2025, more cast members were announced. Katey Sagal will play Dr. Kureha, and Mark Harelik will play Dr. Hiruluk. Producer Becky Clements had previously shared that Jamie Lee Curtis was unable to accept the role due to her existing schedule.
I’m really excited about the supporting cast they’ve assembled! Sendhil Ramamurthy is going to play Nefertari Cobra, and Charithra Chandran will be Miss Wednesday. Plus, Joe Manganiello is joining as Mr. 0, and Lera Abova is taking on the role of Miss All Sunday. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic ensemble!
