New Look at ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ Teased With a New Poster

Lucasfilm has unveiled a new poster for the upcoming movie The Mandalorian and Grogu, offering fans a fresh glimpse at what’s next in the Star Wars story.

Directed by Jon Favreau and co-written with Dave Filoni, this film picks up the story from the Disney+ series The Mandalorian (2019–2023). Pedro Pascal is back as Din Djarin, the Mandalorian, and he’s joined by Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White, and Jonny Coyne, as announced by Lucasfilm.

A fourth season of The Mandalorian was initially in development, but production was put on hold due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes. As a result, Lucasfilm decided to make a feature film instead, officially announced as The Mandalorian & Grogu in January 2024. Filming took place in California from August to December 2024. The movie is scheduled to be released in US theaters on May 22, 2026, and will also be available in IMAX.

After the Empire’s defeat, Din Djarin and his young companion, Grogu, join forces with the New Republic. Together, they embark on a galaxy-wide journey, facing dangers from the last of the Empire’s commanders.

The new series will feature both returning favorites and fresh characters. Sigourney Weaver will play Colonel Ward, a leader within the New Republic’s Adelphi Rangers. Jeremy Allen White will portray Rotta the Hutt, the son of the famous Jabba the Hutt, and Jonny Coyne will play an Imperial Warlord. Dave Filoni will return as New Republic X-wing pilot Trapper Wolf, and we’ll also see characters from the animated series Star Wars Rebels, like Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios.

Fans of The Mandalorian are getting excited about the new film, especially after seeing the recently released poster. The poster features Din Djarin and Grogu and gives a sense of the high stakes and grand scale of the story to come, building on the show’s popularity since it first appeared on Disney+.
