‘On August 6, 2025, Disney+ will premiere a thrilling four-part animated series titled “Wakanda’s Eyes”. This show delves into the captivating past of Wakanda, shining a spotlight on the valiant warriors who have safeguarded it throughout history. The narrative revolves around the Hatut Zaraze, an elite team of Wakandan operatives, embarking on perilous journeys to retrieve stolen Vibranium relics from adversaries threatening their kingdom.’
Showrunner Todd Harris expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “This project has been a long-time in the making. The narrative has been brewing for quite some time within my mind. I strongly believe in what Wakanda symbolizes to humanity as a place free from boundaries of expansion. It has established a boundary – a line it won’t cross and won’t allow others to cross.
In a nutshell, Winderbaum likened the Hatut Zaraze to Wakanda’s intelligence agency. Their main tasks involve retrieving stolen Vibranium and maintaining secrecy to protect Wakanda from potential threats. The Hatut Zaraze face various challenges in remaining loyal to Wakanda as they explore and interact with the wider world.
The distinctive narrative style of the show is facilitated by its use of animation, which Harris considers a versatile format. “Animation offers a level playing field for locations,” he explained. “Whether it’s Egypt or New York City, the moon or Ohio, they all cost the same in animation. There are constraints when filming worldwide that we don’t encounter in animation. This freedom enabled us to create an idyllic portrayal of a period untouched by human history.

In the series “Eyes of Wakanda,” an impressive ensemble of talented voice actors is assembled, with names like Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, Patricia Belcher, Larry Herron, Adam Gold, Lynn Whitfield, Jacques Colimon, Jona Xiao, Isaac Robinson-Smith, Gary Anthony Williams, Zeke Alton, Steve Toussaint, and Disney Legend Anika Noni Rose gracing the roster.
This show is overseen by Ryan Coogler, the well-known director from ‘Black Panther’ (2018) and ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ (2023), along with other main producers like Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Zinzi Coogler, Sev Ohanian, Kalia King, and Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt.
It has been officially verified that this series aligns with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Reports suggest it plays a crucial role in the Multiverse Saga and future projects.
