Recent reports suggest the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie will include different versions of the villain Doctor Doom, and one of them will be a female character. This information comes from industry insider Daniel Richtman.
This has sparked rumors that instead of the previously announced Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, the next big villain team might be a Council of Dooms.
It’s still unknown if the different versions of Doom will team up or oppose Robert Downey Jr.’s character. Fans are excited to see how this collection of villains will play out, and it seems like some plot points originally planned for The Kang Dynasty might now be used in Doomsday.
Originally planned as the fifth Avengers movie, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is now in question. This follows legal troubles for Jonathan Majors, the actor who played the villain Kang the Conqueror, after first appearing in the film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Despite speculation that the film’s changes were due to recent issues, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige explained that they were already planning to shift away from Kang as the central villain. He mentioned that Kang hadn’t resonated with audiences as much as hoped, and the team was exploring Doctor Doom as a potential replacement.
The next Avengers movie, officially titled Avengers: Doomsday, is confirmed to be the fifth installment in the Avengers series and the 39th film overall in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Anthony and Joe Russo will direct, and the screenplay is by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely.
The film features a star-studded cast including Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, and Robert Downey Jr., among many others. It brings together heroes from the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Wakanda to battle the villain Doctor Doom.
I’m so excited for the next phase of the MCU! I heard they started filming Doomsday back in April at Pinewood Studios, and they even shot some scenes in Bahrain! It took a few months, but they wrapped up in September. We finally get to see it on December 18, 2026, and I already can’t wait! Plus, they’re already planning the sequel, Secret Wars, which is coming December 17, 2027. It’s going to be an amazing couple of years for Marvel fans!
