This game, Eyes Never Wake, is as spine-chilling as its title implies. It’s a unique horror game that might appeal to those who crave a more engaging experience within the genre. The twist? A monster in the game uses your device’s webcam to stalk you in the shadows. Eyes Never Wake takes immersion to another level, as the monster can detect your movements, making you move to evade it. To get a glimpse of this chilling experience, check out the trailer below.
In this game, you’ll encounter chase scenes where you need to hide effectively by crouching low enough to go under a desk or angling yourself out of sight. The game breaks the traditional boundary between player and game world by incorporating your face into the action, immersing you directly. Audio is also crucial, as your microphone will be active, allowing the monster to hear you.
The AI-controlled entity in this game is always on the lookout for your face. Each step you take presents an opportunity for it to spot you. Be aware, keep silent, and prepare to conceal your face whenever necessary.
Game creator Allan Hedlund unveiled his debut project, titled Eyes Never Wake, recently. Upon its announcement on platform X, some users expressed privacy concerns regarding the game’s use of webcams and microphones. However, it is clarified on the game’s Steam page that the developer utilizes the webcam solely for in-game functions and does not gather any images or data.
In response to these worries, Hedlund clarified, “Please understand that the game employs OpenCV and OpenCV for Unity solely for facial recognition, utilizing pre-existing models. All processing occurs locally – no data is sent to any servers or similar services. Additionally, you can deactivate this feature whenever you wish.
As a movie buff eagerly awaiting the next big release, I must share that the highly anticipated video game title remains unavailable at this moment, with its official launch date still shrouded in mystery. But fret not, dear gamers! This captivating production is slated to hit Steam’s digital shelves soon, promising an immersive experience you won’t want to miss. So, keep your eyes peeled and fingers poised over that ‘Buy Now’ button – the countdown to fun has begun!
