The trailer for the highly anticipated Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is here, offering fans a first look at the scary events to come at the haunted pizzeria.
This new movie, from the creators of popular horror films at Blumhouse Productions and Universal Pictures, continues the scary story inspired by the famous video game series created by Scott Cawthon.
A year after the first movie, the new film—directed by Emma Tammi and written by Cawthon—continues the story. It centers on Abby Schmidt, played by Piper Rubio, who returns to Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza to see her animatronic friends. During her visit, she uncovers unsettling truths about the restaurant’s history and the beginnings of Freddy Fazbear.
A new set of rules. A new level of fear. Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 only in theaters December 5.

Josh Hutcherson is back as Mike Schmidt, Abby’s brother and a former security guard at Freddy’s. Elizabeth Lail returns as Vanessa Shelly, a police officer and the daughter of the serial killer William Afton, once again played by Matthew Lillard. Piper Rubio also reprises her role, and the cast now includes newcomers Skeet Ulrich, Wayne Knight, Mckenna Grace, Teo Briones, and Freddy Carter.
The movie features some new voice actors for the animatronic characters. Kellen Goff is the voice of Toy Freddy, Megan Fox voices Toy Chica, and Matthew “MatPat” Patrick plays Toy Bonnie. Patrick previously made a small appearance in the first film and is popular with fans for his YouTube channel, Game Theorists, where he frequently discusses the backstory of Five Nights at Freddy’s.
Filming for the sequel started in November 2024 and finished in February. Blumhouse revealed the project had been developing since early 2024, following Josh Hutcherson’s confirmation of a sequel in an interview. Years prior, in 2018, Scott Cawthon suggested a follow-up film was possible if the first one performed well, and the box office success of Five Nights at Freddy’s ultimately made it happen.
The latest trailer suggests this new movie will be scarier and more suspenseful than the first, showing both returning and brand-new robotic characters. Fans online immediately shared their excitement, especially praising the creepy atmosphere and visuals that hint at even bigger frights.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 will be released in U.S. theaters on December 5.
