New FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS Image May Tie-In With THUNDERBOLTS* Post-Credits Scene

A fresh photo from the upcoming movie “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” has been unveiled online, and according to IGN, some fans believe this picture directly links to the post-credits scene of “Thunderbolts.” You might remember that in this scene, set 14 months later, the Thunderbolts, who have now become the New Avengers, detect a spaceship approaching Earth from another dimension. The ship bears the “4” emblem, signaling it’s the Fantastic Four. Could the vessel they’re depicted in be the same one they arrive in from the Sacred Timeline? We have a hunch it is.

In the recently shared photo by Fandango, Johnny Storm (played by Joseph Quinn) and Reed Richards (portrayed by Pedro Pascal) are depicted inside a spaceship with “4” logos. This isn’t the spaceship where they obtained their powers as hinted in the trailer. Instead, we catch brief glimpses of that backstory in the trailer, where their suits resemble standard NASA-style outfits. The spaceship in this picture seems to be one they have as a well-known superhero team, possibly the same ship they use to navigate the Multiverse at the end of Thunderbolts.

This intriguing development in “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” has left us curious about its conclusion. Will Marvel’s First Family manage to vanquish Galactus at the end of their movie? We strongly doubt it will result in the demise of billions, as that would be too bleak an ending. Instead, it seems plausible that they succeed in thwarting his menace only temporarily. They might find themselves compelled to seek aid from heroes in another dimension due to the magnitude of the threat Galactus poses. This could be the reason behind their journey to Earth-616. It’s not because Galactus has destroyed their world, but rather because they recognize that he is a problem beyond the capacity of one hero group to solve. We’ll learn more about this connection with “Thunderbolts” when “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” hits theaters on July 25.
