New BTS Shot of Ben Affleck in ‘Batman V. Superman’ Shared by Zack Snyder

Zack Snyder is sharing behind-the-scenes photos from his films with his followers on Instagram. He’s been posting pictures from projects he’s worked on since he started using the platform.

Zack Snyder recently shared a black and white Polaroid photo of Ben Affleck wearing the Batman suit during filming for the movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He explained in the caption that it was a test shot using a Leica monochrome camera, calling it “hard suit test BvS.”

Ben Affleck portrayed Batman in several films, including Batman v Superman, Justice League, and Suicide Squad. While his performance as the character was well-received, the experience wasn’t always easy. Filming Justice League proved particularly challenging due to major behind-the-scenes changes after director Zack Snyder had to leave the project following a personal tragedy – the loss of his daughter.

When the director had to step away, Joss Whedon came in to finish the movie, but things apparently got pretty strained on set. There were definitely some creative clashes happening. I remember reading that even critics noticed Ben Affleck seemed a bit distant – one review in The Hollywood Reporter said he looked like he’d rather be doing anything else. It was a shame, because you could feel it even watching the final cut.

Following his work on Justice League, Ben Affleck decided to leave The Batman project, both as an actor and director. He felt he needed time to develop a compelling story and, more importantly, to focus on his personal well-being. This period also allowed him to address and overcome challenges with alcohol and prioritize his recovery.

Zack Snyder’s recent Instagram post reminded fans of the initial thrill of seeing Ben Affleck as Batman. It highlighted a brief, yet impactful, scene from a role that generated a lot of both praise and discussion.
