Lopez explained that he had planned for Bullock to visit a comedy club where he was performing during the mid to late ’90s. However, he asked the manager not to let Bullock come because he had been drinking heavily and didn’t want her to witness him in that state.
He also mentioned that despite not knowing her at that time, he firmly requested she shouldn’t depart from the green room in a state of pleading. Subsequently, he shared that when Bullock recognized him, he had tidied himself up, and she summoned him to her office.
He revealed that they sat in her office for three hours and discussed work, adding, “I’d never had anybody believe in me.”
Approximately a year and a half after their initial encounter, these two innovative minds ran into each other again. At that time, the actress, who later rose to become the executive producer of George Lopez’s successful TV series, was on the hunt for fresh talent.
