Netflix’s One Piece Season 3 Cast Adds Xolo Maridueña as Ace

Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece has cast Xolo Maridueña – known for his roles in Blue Beetle and Cobra Kai – as Portgas D. Ace. Filming for Season 3 will begin later this year in Cape Town, South Africa.

New Cast for Season 3

Xolo Maridueña is the latest addition to the cast, joining Cole Escola who will play Bon Clay. Escola recently finished a successful run on Broadway in Oh, Mary! and is now setting sail for the next installment of One Piece.

Netflix quickly renewed the show for a third season and is continuing to invest in Luffy’s ongoing adventure.

Maridueña’s Netflix Return

Xolo Maridueña is well-known for playing Miguel Diaz in the hit series Cobra Kai, and he recently appeared at Netflix’s Geeked Week in 2024. Now, he’s taking on the role of a beloved character in the world of One Piece.

Season 2 Arrives in 2026

Fans can look forward to the second season of One Piece: Into the Grand Line on March 10, 2026, before the arrival of Ace. This season follows the Straw Hat crew as they venture into the Grand Line, where they’ll encounter new enemies, forge new friendships, and continue Luffy’s journey to become the Pirate King.

Season 2 introduces Tony Tony Chopper, with Mikaela Hoover providing the voice, and Miss Wednesday, played by Charithra Chandran.

About the series

The series One Piece centers on Monkey D. Luffy, played by Iñaki Godoy, and his diverse crew—including Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero), and Sanji (Taz Skylar)—as they embark on a quest to find the famous treasure of the late Gold Roger.

Tomorrow Studios and Netflix are producing the live-action series. Eiichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, Christoph Schrewe, and Steven Maeda are all executive producers on the project.
