As a thriller enthusiast with a soft spot for disaster movies, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming miniseries, La Palma! With its talented cast and crew hailing from the same team that brought us The Wave, The Quake, and The Burning Sea, it’s evident that we’re in for an intense ride.
Netflix has unveiled the trailer for “La Palma”, a gripping four-part Norwegian miniseries produced by the team behind hit movies such as “The Wave”, “The Quake”, and “The Burning Sea”. This series, airing on December 12th, is breaking new ground in Norway with its stunning and intense visual effects.
The cast of “La Palma” includes Anders Baasmo, known for “Power Play” and “The Arctic Convoy”, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal from “Westworld” and “The Seed”, Thea Sofie Loch Næss, star of “So Long, Marianne” and “The Last Kingdom”, and Thorbjørn Harr, who appeared in “Sex” and “Power Play”. Directing this series is Kasper Barfoed, known for “The Nurse” and “The Chestnut Man”, with the script penned by Harald Rosenløw Eeg and Lars Gudmestad.
Harald Rosenløw Eeg & Lars Gudmestad, writers:
We’ve found it thrilling to explore the disaster genre in a TV series setting, allowing us to delve deeper into characters’ lives as we unfold an epic story. The show portrays ordinary individuals facing their limits during catastrophes and their struggle to conquer their fears.
In addition, La Palma stretches the limitations of what can be accomplished visually within a Norwegian television show. We eagerly anticipate viewers recognizing the passion and dedication poured into crafting an engaging and awe-inspiring production.
This thrilling television show centers around a band of Norwegian vacationers stranded on the Canary Islands amidst a colossal volcanic explosion. Confronted by poisonous ash, surging lava, and utter pandemonium, they are compelled to battle for their lives and devise a plan to flee towards security.
