Even with popular shows wrapping up, Netflix is planning a packed 2026. During its annual ‘Next on Netflix’ event, the streaming service announced a wide variety of content coming soon, including returning favorites, brand new series, reality TV, live events, and documentaries. This announcement details all the programs Netflix has in the works.
Last year, Netflix highlighted its popular shows like Stranger Things, Squid Game, and Wednesday. While Stranger Things and Squid Game have finished their runs, Wednesday won’t be back until after 2026. However, Netflix assures viewers there’s still a lot of great content coming soon.
Lots of favorite shows are returning with new seasons! You can look forward to more episodes of Outer Banks, The Gentlemen, Black Doves, and The Hunting Wives. Netflix has confirmed that Lupin will be back for a fourth season later this year, and The Witcher will conclude with its fifth and final season. Other shows getting new seasons include Nobody Wants This, Avatar: The Last Airbender, 3 Body Problem, The Four Seasons, Running Point, and Leanne.
Several shows have confirmed release dates: Bridgerton season four arrives January 29th, followed by The Lincoln Lawyer season four on February 5th and The Night Agent season three on February 19th. In March, expect the premiere of One Piece season two, as well as new seasons of Virgin River and Sweet Magnolias. Finally, the popular limited series Beef will be back for a second season in April.
Now that Stranger Things has finished, the creators, the Duffer Brothers, still have plans with Netflix. They’re set to release three new shows in 2026: a series called The Boroughs, which takes place in a retirement community, a horror show titled Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen, and an animated Stranger Things spin-off called Tales From ’85. These will all come out before the Duffer Brothers begin a new project with Paramount later in the year.

Netflix is investing heavily in historical dramas. In addition to the popular Bridgerton, they’re developing a new Pride and Prejudice series, reimagining Little House on the Prairie, and creating a contemporary version of East of Eden.
Animation is still a key focus for the platform. Viewers can look forward to new animated series from creators like Ricky Gervais, as well as fresh seasons of popular shows like Devil May Cry and Long Story Short.
Expect to see more live and unscripted content on Netflix. They’re bringing back the talent show Star Search as a live event soon, and are also developing new reality and competition series, plus another season of the popular show Love Is Blind.
Netflix has several documentaries in the works, including projects about well-known figures like Kylie Minogue, Gordon Ramsay, and Rafael Nadal. Viewers who enjoy nature and history will also find new series featuring David Attenborough and Steven Spielberg.
